FX Handbook reviews regulated forex brokers with a published methodology. Each broker is scored on regulation and client protection, trading costs, deposits and withdrawals, execution and platforms, accounts and products, and transparency and support. Regulatory facts are checked on each regulator's own register, and every review states whether it is based on a live account, a demo account or published information.

How are the brokers scored?
Each broker is scored from 1 to 5 on six weighted criteria, with regulation and client protection carrying the most weight. The full criteria, weights and testing rules are in our review methodology. Brokers cannot pay to change a score.
Before you open an account
A score describes the broker as reviewed. The protections you receive depend on the legal entity that would open your account and on the rules of your country:
- How to choose a forex broker: the checklist, from the regulator’s register to withdrawal terms.
- Forex regulation: regulators and leverage limits by country.
- Is forex trading legal?: where retail forex is permitted.
- Forex scams: the warning signs of unregulated and fake brokers.

Frequently asked questions
Which forex broker is the best?
There is no single best broker for everyone. Scores show how brokers compare on our criteria, but the right choice also depends on which entity may serve your country and on how you trade.
Are the brokers on this page regulated?
Every reviewed broker has at least one entity authorised by a national regulator with a public register. Protections depend on the entity that would open your account.
Does FX Handbook earn money from these brokers?
It may earn a commission when a reader opens an account through a partner link. Commissions do not affect scores; see the affiliate disclosure.
