Prop Firm Consistency Calculator

A prop firm consistency calculator shows what share of your profit comes from your best day and whether it meets your firm's consistency rule. Enter your daily results, the threshold and how your firm calculates the rule; the result is the best-day percentage and, if the rule is not met, the additional profit needed on other days or the raised profit target.

How the consistency percentage is calculated

Best-day consistency percentage
best-day consistency % = best day profit ÷ relevant profit base × 100

The relevant profit base depends on the firm: the sum of positive days' profit, total net profit (which also counts losing days), or the profit target. The rule is met when the percentage is at or below the threshold. If it is not met, a total-profit rule needs more profit on other days, while a target-based rule raises the profit target: prop firm consistency rule.

Worked example

Daily results $2,000, $10,000 and $4,000, 50% threshold, compared with positive days' profit:

Best day $10,000 ÷ $16,000 = 62.5%, not met. Assuming the best day stays $10,000, positive days' profit must reach $20,000, so $4,000 more is needed on other days.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate a prop firm consistency rule?

Divide the best day's profit by the firm's profit base and multiply by 100. The base is total net profit, the sum of positive days' profit or the profit target, depending on the firm.

How much more profit do I need to meet the consistency rule?

Under a total-profit rule, assuming the best day stays the same, the profit base must reach the best day divided by the threshold; the calculator shows the difference as the additional profit needed on other days.

Which calculation method should I choose?

The one your firm's rules describe: positive days' profit (as in FTMO's legacy Best Day rule), total net profit (as in FTMO's 1-Step consistency rule from 12 October 2026 and on some funded futures accounts), or the profit target (as in Topstep's Trading Combine).
