Which Tickmill entity would open my account?
The entity depends on where you live, and so do the protections. UK clients are served by Tickmill UK Ltd under FCA rules, and EU and EEA clients by Tickmill Europe Ltd under CySEC rules: for retail clients, leverage on major currency pairs is capped at 30:1, and negative balance protection applies. Clients elsewhere are generally served by Tickmill Ltd, licensed in Seychelles, where Tickmill offers leverage of up to 1000:1 and where the rules on client protections differ: forex regulation.
Before opening an account, check the entity named in the client agreement and confirm it on the regulator’s register: how to choose a forex broker.
