A prop firm rules comparison sets the challenge rules of different firms side by side. This table shows, for every challenge we review, the fee, profit target, daily and maximum loss limits, static or trailing drawdown, time limits and profit split, with the date each firm was last checked. Rule changes are logged below with their source.
Prop firm rules, side by side
The table below shows every challenge programme of the prop firms we review, for a $100,000 account unless stated otherwise. It is built from the same data as our reviews, so when a firm’s rules change and we update its review, this table changes with it. Use the filters to show only one-step or two-step challenges, or only static or trailing maximum loss.

How to read the table
- Profit target: the gain needed to pass each phase, as a percentage of the starting balance: prop firm challenge.
- Daily loss: the most the account may lose in one day. Firms measure it from the day’s starting balance, equity or the higher of the two, and the reset time differs between firms.
- Maximum loss: the overall floor the account must stay above. Static means the floor is fixed below the starting balance; trailing means it moves up as the account makes new highs: prop firm drawdown rules.
- Profit split: the share of profit paid to the trader, often rising with scaling plans or paid add-ons: prop firm payouts.
The room left before each limit for your own account: prop firm drawdown calculator.

Prop firms change rules, prices and payout terms often. Each change we find is recorded here with the date and a link to the firm’s own page.
- , FTMO: 1-Step: the Best Day rule (best day no more than 50% of positive days' profit) was replaced by a Consistency rule (best day no more than 50% of total profit) for accounts from orders created, or accounts merged, on or after 12 October 2026; not a breach. Found on 18 October 2026. (source)
How we keep this table current
Under our prop firm methodology, each reviewed firm’s rules pages are checked at least once a month, and whenever its review is updated. The date under each firm is the last time its facts were checked against its own website. Scores and rankings are in the reviews and the best prop firms list, under our prop firm methodology; this table only reports the rules and does not rank the firms; it is sorted alphabetically.
Frequently asked questions
Which prop firms have a static maximum drawdown?
Filter the table by maximum loss. Among the firms we review, FTMO's 2-Step Challenge, The5ers High Stakes and Bootcamp, all FundedNext Stellar challenges, E8 Pro and Alpha Pro use a static maximum loss, as of the verification dates shown.
What is the difference between static and trailing drawdown?
A static maximum loss is fixed at a level below the starting balance. A trailing one moves up as the account makes new highs, so profits raise the floor; some trail end-of-day balances, others intraday equity, and some stop trailing at the starting balance.
How often is this table updated?
Under our methodology, each firm's rules are checked against its own website at least once a month and whenever a review is updated. The date of the last check is shown under each firm, and changes are logged with their date and source.
Why are all accounts $100,000?
Fees, targets and limits scale with account size, so comparing one size keeps the table fair. Firms offer other account sizes, with fees and limits that differ by size; check the firm's site.
